Chapter 476: Tathagata Buddha RescueThe Western Buddhist land.

The Lingjiu Peak and the Great Leiyin Temple are solemn and majestic, and the Buddha's light shines everywhere.

The Western Buddha sits upright on a lotus platform with a solemn and majestic appearance.

Taibai Jinxing hurried forward, respectfully presented the Jade Emperor's order, and bowed to the Tathagata Buddha, saying:

"Reporting to the Tathagata Buddha, the Great Emperor Donghua, the Immortal of the Three Islands and Ten Continents, actually had an affair with the Fairy Peony. This is a violation of the Heavenly Law, a violation of the order of Heaven, and a disgrace to the Three Realms."

"Then, Emperor Donghua resisted arrest again, and is now leading his people to cause chaos in the heavens, causing unrest in the heavens and shaking the world."

"Right now, True Lord Yousheng is fighting with Emperor Donghua, but I'm afraid it will be difficult for him to defeat him."

"The situation is urgent, the Jade Emperor has sent me here to ask you, the Buddha, to come to the Heaven to rescue me."

"I hope that Tathagata Buddha will be merciful and have pity on all living beings in the Three Realms. I hope that you will help me suppress Emperor Donghua and restore peace and tranquility to the Three Realms."

Upon hearing this, the Buddha did not accept the order immediately, but lowered his eyes slightly, frowned slightly, and seemed to be in deep thought.

After a while.

The Tathagata Buddha said in a long voice:"This……"

This is the implication of the words of Buddha Tathagata.

This is clearly an internal dispute within the heavens. If the Western Lingshan side rashly intervenes, wouldn't that be like a dog trying to catch a rat and meddling in other people's affairs? Moreover, the matter is complicated and if it is not handled with care, it may cause many troubles. Not only will it be no good, but it will also cause trouble for no reason.

He came all the way here to help, isn't that a thankless task?

The solemn voice of Tathagata Buddha echoed in the Great Leiyin Temple, with some hesitation and consideration.

The Tathagata Buddha is served by two holy monks, Ananda and Kasyapa.

The two holy monks, Ananda and Kasyapa, were both very insightful people. Just by looking at each other, they knew what Tathagata Buddha was thinking.

Venerable Anan took a step forward, spread his hands, looked like he was asking for something, looked straight at Taibai Jinxing, and said:

"The angel from heaven has come all the way from heaven. I wonder what human resources he brought with him to give to our Lingshan as a token of his sincerity?"

Venerable Anan's words seemed peaceful, but they contained a meaning that could not be ignored. It seemed that he was reminding Taibai Jinxing that Lingshan's action was not out of morality, but required a sufficient price.

Just like the saying goes: "It's not that Buddha won't save you, Buddha only saves those who are destined to be saved (people with Yuan)".

Perhaps, in the eyes of the Buddhas of Lingshan, this "person with destiny" is often closely connected with the "person with origin".

When Taibai Jinxing saw that Tathagata Buddha had not yet responded to his order, and also saw Venerable Ananda asking him for personnel, he suddenly felt a nameless anger in his heart.

Taibai Jinxing couldn't help but curse in his heart:"As the saying goes: Buddha needs to be plated with gold."

"The Buddha said that we need to cut off the three thousand strands of troubles, but all Buddhists are obsessed with casting a golden statue of the Buddha."

"I didn't think so before, but today I see that it is true."

"The people in Lingshan are so greedy that they won't do anything until they see the rabbit and the benefits."

"Your Majesty understands these Buddhas and Arhats. He knows that if you don't give them help, they won't take action."

But Taibai Jinxing knew very well that this was not the time to attack.

He suppressed his dissatisfaction and quickly said:

"The Jade Emperor has made a solemn promise to allow the Western Lingshan to spread Buddhism to the East. In the future, the Buddhist scriptures can be spread to the southern continent and the Buddhist path can be promoted!"

"This is a great opportunity, I hope Lingshan will not miss it."

As soon as Taibai Jinxing said this, it was like a loud thunder, instantly breaking the original tranquility and solemnity of the Great Leiyin Temple.

The Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats of many sacred mountains were all stunned when they heard this, as if their hearts were hit by a heavy hammer, and then a hint of surprise that was difficult to conceal flashed in their eyes.

……

The Great Leiyin Temple is a pure place in Buddhism. It is the purest holy place in Buddhism and cannot be polluted by worldly affairs.

In this solemn and dignified place, the "Eight Precepts" are hung high, which are the "Eight Precepts" of Buddhism.

These "Eight Precepts" are the principles of Buddhist practice.

The first precept is that a Buddhist must be compassionate, have sympathy for all living beings, abstain from killing, have no intention or thought of killing, and always be mindful of the suffering of all living beings.

The second precept is that Buddhists should abandon greed, always have a giving heart, use compassion as a boat, and save the world and save people.

The third precept is that the Buddha must cut off lustful thoughts and not indulge in the pleasure of sex. The fourth precept is that the Buddha must not lie and his words must be true and without falsehood.

……

The seventh precept is that a Buddhist should not sit or lie on a high or wide bed, and should take simplicity as the basis of self-cultivation, stick to one's original mind in the ordinary, and not be moved by material desires...

But at this moment.

When the news of "Buddhism spreading to the East" came.

Inside the Great Leiyin Temple.

The originally solemn and spotless Buddhist holy land seemed to be invaded by an evil wind and changed its appearance in an instant.

The tranquility and peace of the past are gone, replaced by a bustling and noisy scene, just like a vegetable market full of commercial atmosphere, with constant noise.

The Buddhist Bajie was instantly forgotten.

The Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Arhats no longer had the solemnity and reserve of the past; they all whispered to each other, and the sounds of discussion rose and fell like the tide.

There is no longer compassion and tranquility in their eyes, but instead burning greed.

"What? Is there really such a 'benefit'? The Jade Emperor actually gave us such a great 'personnel' at Lingshan?"

The eyes of a female Bodhisattva, which were originally compassionate and peaceful, were now wide open, full of surprise and disbelief.

She leaned forward slightly, as if she wanted to hear the news more clearly.

"Such a huge benefit, this is simply a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

"If we can catch him, Lingshan will surely reach a higher level!"

A golden arhat was so excited that his face turned red, veins bulged on his forehead, and his hands were unconsciously clenched into fists, his knuckles turning pale from the force.

"You actually allow us to spread Buddhism to the East?"

"This 'human affairs' is really too important!"

One of the Buddhas had a red face and was very excited. He stood up suddenly, and his robes fluttered without wind.

He clasped his hands together and looked up at the top of the hall, his eyes flashing with a fiery light, as if he had seen the glorious scene of Lingshan Buddhism shining brightly in the Southern Continent, and he shouted:

"Amitabha, this is a sign of the great prosperity of Lingshan!"

"If this is really possible, the Buddhist teachings of Lingshan will surely shine in the East and benefit the people of Jambudvīpa!"

"Let them all bathe in the glory of the Dharma and escape from the sea of suffering!"

Another male Bodhisattva clasped his hands together, his eyes full of longing, his voice trembling slightly, revealing his inner excitement and anticipation.

……

For a while.

Inside the Great Leiyin Temple.

The Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Arhats each held an opinion and the argument continued.

The originally pure and untainted Buddhist Pure Land has now become noisy and bustling because of these "human" affairs, just like a pot of boiling water, extremely lively.

In the past, the lingering Buddhist incense and melodious Sanskrit sounds were now drowned out by the noise, leaving only the heated discussion of this "human" matter among the Buddhist disciples.

They all knew clearly what the "spread of Buddhism to the East" meant.

This is by no means a trivial matter, but an unprecedented enhancement of Lingshan's influence in the Three Realms. It is an event that countless Buddhist disciples look forward to and dream of day and night.

Once successful, Lingshan will surely become famous in the three realms, and Buddhism will be spread more widely, benefiting all living beings.

By then, the incense offerings at Lingshan will be even more prosperous, and their "human offerings" will also be greater.

……

This scene is just like the journey to the West by Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and other members of the team who went through 81 trials and tribulations, sleeping in the open air, subduing demons and monsters, and after going through untold hardships, they finally arrived at the sacred place of Lingshan.

They thought that after going through all the hardships, they would finally be able to obtain the "Three Treasures" and bring back the supreme Buddhist teachings to the Tang Dynasty in the East to save all living beings.

However, on top of Lingshan Mountain, at the feet of Buddha Tathagata, an unexpected scene occurred.

Tang Sanzang was full of piety and thought he could easily obtain the Tripitaka scriptures, but he was stopped by the two venerable monks Ananda and Kasyapa who were "serving before the Buddha" and asked to take his place.

"The holy monk from the East has come here. What gifts do you have for us? Bring them out quickly..."

Inside the Great Leiyin Temple, the two venerable monks, Ananda and Kasyapa, looked at Tang Seng with expressionless faces. They openly demanded for human services, and their eyes revealed an unquestionable tone, as if this was a matter of course.

Later, Sun Wukong, who was straightforward by nature, could not stand such a challenge, so he immediately went to the Buddha to complain, and angrily told him everything. After hearing this, the Buddha did not get angry, but just smiled and said to Sun Wukong:

"Please stop yelling. I already know that they are asking you for help."

"But the sutra should not be passed on lightly, nor should it be taken for nothing... Some time ago, the bhikkhus and holy monks came down from the mountain and recited this sutra to the elder Zhao in the country of Savatthi... They only got three dou and three liters of rice and gold back from him. I said they sold it too cheaply, leaving our descendants with no money to use it!"

Sun Wukong couldn't help but be stunned by what Tathagata Buddha said.

It turns out that for Lingshan, the scriptures cannot be passed on lightly, nor can they be taken empty-handed. This has long been a rule deeply rooted in people's minds.

If you come to take it empty-handed, without any human interaction or benefits of real gold or silver, it will not work, and you can only get a scripture without words.

Therefore, the blank copy was passed on.

If you want to ask the Buddha for help, you have to pay the price with "human resources". This has been the tradition of Lingshan.

Otherwise, there will be no involvement, no benefits, no merit and no reward, and the teachings will be passed down to future generations with nothing, while future generations will starve to death! This rule may seem mundane, but it has been circulated in Lingshan for a long time and everyone knows it.

Later, the two venerables Ananda and Kasyapa led Tang Sanzang and his disciples to the Treasure Tower. They still did not give up and asked Tang Sanzang for some personnel.

Tang Sanzang had nothing at the moment and was extremely anxious. He had no choice but to order Sha Seng to take out the purple gold bowl and present it to him with both hands.

Even though the purple gold bowl was used by Tang Monk to beg for alms along the way and carried many hardships, at this moment he had no choice but to offer it as a "human contribution" in order to obtain the "Three Treasures Scriptures".

At that time, before the journey to the West began, Guanyin Bodhisattva promised the Tang Emperor in Chang'an City that there were "Three Treasures of Scriptures" in the West, and he should send people to get them.

Therefore, Chen Xuanzang took the "Three Canons" as his name, and his Buddhist name was "Tang Sanzang".

However, it may be that the "human resources" offered by Tang Sanzang were not generous enough and lacked sincerity.

Tang Monk originally wanted to obtain the complete Tripitaka, but in the end he only obtained 5,048 volumes of scriptures, which is the number of one Tripitaka.

That's right, "Tang Sanzang" finally became "Tang Yizang", missing two Buddhist scriptures.

One can't help but sigh at the rules of this sacred mountain and the helplessness of the world.

In the underworld, money makes the world go round.

And it is the same in Lingshan Holy Land. There is no one and no benefits. It is really difficult to move forward!

……

Upon hearing the breaking news of "Buddhism spreading to the East", the atmosphere in the Great Leiyin Temple suddenly became subtle, and all the Buddhas appeared in various forms.

"Da da da, da da da..."

The "Buddha of the Past" Dipankara Buddha sat upright on a jade lotus platform with his eyes slightly closed. He seemed calm, but the speed at which he twisted the Buddhist beads with his fingertips suddenly increased by three points.

The Buddhist beads collided with each other, making crisp and rapid sounds, which were particularly clear in this originally quiet Buddhist temple, just like the external manifestation of his inner ups and downs.

This highly respected ancient Buddha of Lingshan was also thinking about the many opportunities and variables hidden behind the spread of Buddhism to the East.

“Hahahaha, hahahaha…”

On the other side, the "Future Buddha" Maitreya Buddha opened his brocade robes, and his round belly rose and fell with his hearty laughter, as if he wanted to vent all the joy in his heart through this laughter.

The "human race bag" in his hand quietly emitted a mysterious light, and as the light flowed, it seemed to be cheering for this sudden and great opportunity.

You know, the incense territory of Xiniu Hezhou has already been divided up almost entirely among the Buddhas of Lingshan.

This Xiniu Hezhou is like a delicious cake. After years of division, there is not much left now. The Buddhas of Lingshan no longer have much room for development here.

The Southern Continent is completely different; it is a virgin land in the Western Lingshan Mountains that has yet to be developed!

That means there is endless incense and faith. They dream of going to Jambudvīpa to preach the Dharma and let it take root and bear fruit there.

However, Southern Continent is the territory of the gods in heaven, and they have never been able to intervene before. They could only watch helplessly.

Unexpectedly, the Jade Emperor has now made this opening. This is undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Lingshan.

If we can take this opportunity to spread Buddhism to Jambudvīpa, the influence of Lingshan will surely increase greatly, the incense will flourish, and the prosperity of the Western Continent is just around the corner!Such an achievement is tantamount to "expanding territory"!For every practitioner in Lingshan, this is a dream come true.

"Buddhism spread eastwards, and Buddhist scriptures were spread to Jambudvīpa..."

A female Bodhisattva's eyes were full of longing and yearning, as if she had seen the grand scene of the spread of Buddhism in Jambudvīpa. She whispered softly:"But what sutra should I preach?"

"Is it the Diamond Sutra of the Eight Vajras, my Heart Sutra? Or some other scripture?"

"Who will preach the sutra? We need to choose a person of high moral character and profound knowledge of Buddhism to take on this important task."

Another female Bodhisattva echoed.

At this moment.

"Buddhism spread to the East..."

"This is my chance, Maitreya..."

"Prince Lingshan" - Maitreya Buddha has a meaningful look in his eyes, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised, as if he is thinking about something.

This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Maitreya Buddha.

If Maitreya Buddha can take this opportunity to spread Buddhism in Jambudvīpa, his own reputation and status will surely rise to a higher level, even surpassing that of Tathagata Buddha.

"Tathagata is the Buddha of the West, and I shall be the Buddha of the East, competing with him!"

"He has the 'Big Leiyin Temple', and I can also open a 'Small Leiyin Temple'!"

"As for the candidate for the Scripture..."

Maitreya Buddha frowned slightly, and then relaxed his brows.

As for the "person to preach the scriptures" who would go to Jambudvīpa, Maitreya Buddha already had a plan in mind.

He thought his disciple "Yellow-browed Boy" was quite good.

The yellow-browed boy is clever and intelligent, and has a certain understanding of Buddhism. He can go to Jambudvīpa to preach the sutra, and perhaps make a great career.

This is also a great thing for Lingshan.

"As for how to preach the scriptures?"

“Who will be sent to preach the Scriptures?”

"What sutras are you preaching?"

……

This series of questions lingered in the minds of the Buddhas at Lingshan.

However, they will slowly negotiate the distribution within Lingshan.

The three giants of Lingshan, Dipankara Buddha, Tathagata Buddha, and Maitreya Buddha looked at each other. Without words, they understood each other's thoughts from each other's eyes.

There seemed to be countless tacit understandings and considerations in the exchange of eyes, silently communicating their views and plans on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The communication between the three giants of Lingshan, namely, Dipankara Buddha, Tathagata Buddha and Maitreya Buddha, has been completed.

The Tathagata Buddha nodded slightly and said to Taibai Jinxing:"I already understand the Jade Emperor's intention."

"Lingshan is willing to lend a helping hand to Heaven to suppress Emperor Donghua."

"However, the spread of Buddhism to the East is a major matter, and we at Lingshan still need to make long-term and detailed plans."

Taibai Jinxing was overjoyed when he heard this, and he bowed and said:

"Don't worry, Buddha. The Jade Emperor has made a promise and he will never break it."

"After suppressing Emperor Donghua, the Jade Emperor will discuss the spread of Buddhism to the East with the Buddha, and will definitely give Lingshan a satisfactory answer."

What it means is:

The project of "spreading Buddhism eastwards and spreading the scriptures to Jambudvīpa" has been finalized.

However, the specific implementation details, such as who will be in the "scripture-preaching team", still need to be discussed by Buddha Tathagata and the Jade Emperor at that time.

The Tathagata Buddha weighed the pros and cons in his mind, and after a moment, he said to the Bodhisattvas:

"How dare the traitor Donghua rebel against heaven and disturb the peace of the three realms!"

"This kind of evil behavior is intolerable to heaven. Although I am far away in Lingshan, I cannot stand watching it!"

"You all sit still in the Dharma Hall, and do not disturb the Zen throne. I will come to you to refine the demons and save you!"

After Tathagata Buddha finished speaking, a nine-grade golden lotus of merit suddenly sprouted under his feet, holding up his six-foot-tall golden body. It broke through the roof of the Great Leiyin Temple and rushed towards the direction of the heaven!

Afraid of going too late.

As the close disciples of Tathagata Buddha, Ananda and Kasyapa often served the Buddha and naturally followed him.

It was just that the Tathagata Buddha walked too fast, and the two venerables, Ananda and Kasyapa, could not catch up, so they hurriedly called out from behind:"Buddha, wait for us!"
